I Meant to Do My Work Today

I meant to do my work today,
But a little girl came by to play,
And another wee one found her way,
And all the granddaughters were calling me.
And my heart went sighing over the land,
Tossing my art plans to and fro,
And a child held out her shining hand,
So what could I do but laugh and go?

Oh Lesley, they are the sweetest! All my 'plans' go right out the window when my grandbabies show up too. These are precious times and we're so blessed that we're available to just 'be' with them. Thanks for sharing with us! xo

A friend saw this and sent it to me -- she laughed and said even though it is about girls it would fit me. And it does -- my 7 grandsons keep me busy -- and I love it -- the three oldest ones are almost past the time with Gram, but the 4 younger ones I'd give up anything to spend time with them.

Thanks for the lovely poem --- and I have really enjoyed seeing your blog too.
